LA VENTURA
Santiago based, LA VENTURA was founded in 2003. The first film produced was “PLAY”, a co production between France and Argentine. LA VENTURA deeply believes in building up the space for new talents to make their innovative films, taking advantage, and not afraid, of new technologies, in designing co productions structures to render this new films possible, and in a tailored and careful work for helping them to find their audiences. .

ALICIA SCHERSON / Writer - director
Alicia Scherson was born in Santiago de Chile in 1974. After graduating as a biologist, she studied filmmaking in EICTV, Cuba, and then got a Master in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, USA. She has made several short films and videos. “PLAY”, her first feature film, premiered in 2005 and was awarded with more than 17 international film prizes. To date it has been theatrically released in Chile, Greece, UK, Francia, Belgium, Germany, Equator, Venezuela and México. Her second film “Tourists” is being filmed in the South of Chile and will be released on 2008.

MACARENA LÓPEZ / Producer
Macarena López was born in Santiago de Chile in 1971. She has been line producer and executive producer of features, shorts and TV series since 2003. She studied Business Administration at the Universidad Catolica and then Film Production in the International Production Workshop at the EICTV, Cuba, for which she received a Fondart Scholarship. Her first project was the Executive Production of the feature film “PLAY”, by Alicia Scherson. In 2005 she produced the short film “Women workers leaving the factory” by José Luis Torres Leiva. Both movies were shown and awarded internationally. Right now she develops the feature film projects “SUMMERTIME”, by Torres Leiva, “El Circuito de Roman ” by Sebastian Brahm and Scherson’s “Tourists”. She is one of the founders and member of SANFIC Film Festival.
